Product Details

Quartzite from Pakistan

Quartzite is a metamorphosed sandstone composed almost entirely of quartz grains that have recrystallized under high heat and pressure to form an interlocking mosaic of quartz crystals. This geological process imparts quartzite with exceptional hardness, strength, density, and resistance to chemical and physical weathering. Pakistan’s extensive metamorphic rock formations host several high-purity quartzite deposits suitable for refractory, metallurgical and construction applications.

Typical Composition

  • SiO₂: 95-99%

  • Fe₂O₃: 0.1-1.5%

  • Al₂O₃: 0.2-2%

  • CaO + MgO: < 1%

  • Na₂O + K₂O: < 0.5%

  • LOI: < 0.5%

Available Forms

  • Raw blocks and boulders

  • Crushed lumps (50-150 mm)

  • Coarse aggregates (4.75-40 mm)

  • Fine aggregates (0-4.75 mm)

  • Milled fines (0-1 mm)

Applications

High-silica refractory bricks and shapes, silica brick, ferrosilicon production, silicon metal production, foundry sand, metallurgical flux, abrasives, railroad ballast, concrete aggregates, road base material, erosion control riprap, dimension stone, landscaping stone.

Quality Assurance

Quartzite is tested as per relevant ASTM, BS and ISO standards for silica content, chemical composition, strength, thermal properties and size gradation. Each lot includes a Certificate of Analysis and technical datasheets. Independent lab testing and on-site inspection can be arranged on request.

Why Source From Pakistan?

Pakistan’s diverse geological formations include extensive metamorphic belts hosting high-quality quartzite deposits. Dedicated quartzite quarrying and processing operations produce a range of products tailored for refractory, metallurgical, and construction applications. Proximity to seaports and land border crossings enables competitive logistics across South Asia, Central Asia, the Gulf, and beyond. Comprehensive material testing, quality control, and certifications meet stringent industrial standards. Integrated sourcing through DaaTrade ensures reliable material properties, secure supply, and smooth export documentation, making Pakistan an emerging player in the global quartzite market.

Frequently Asked Questions

A: While both are composed primarily of silicon dioxide (SiO₂), quartzite is a metamorphic rock formed from quartz-rich sandstone, while quartz is a single mineral crystal. Quartzite has a granulose, sugary texture formed by recrystallized quartz grains, while quartz has a glassy luster and occurs as large crystal faces in veins and geodes. Quartzite is used mainly as an aggregate, building stone or refractory raw material, while quartz is valued for its piezoelectric properties, optical clarity, and semiconductor applications.

A: Our quartzite typically contains 95% to 99% SiO₂ depending on the grade and source quarry. The precise silica content, along with levels of iron, alumina, alkalies, and other trace elements, is reported on the Certificate of Analysis for each production lot. We offer low-iron grades with Fe₂O₃ below 0.5% for refractory and metallurgical applications, and construction grades where composition is less critical. Please specify your required silica and impurity limits when requesting a quote.

A: We offer a full range of quartzite aggregate sizes for different construction and industrial uses. Our standard size fractions are coarse aggregates (40 mm, 20 mm, 10 mm), fine aggregates (5 mm, 2.5 mm), stone dust (0-5 mm), and milled fines (0-1 mm). We can also customize the gradation to meet project specifications. Our crushing and screening plants allow precise control over particle size distribution. Minimum order quantities may apply for non-standard sizes.
