Chromite concentrate is produced by beneficiating lower-grade chromite ore through gravity-based mineral processing. Raw ore with 20–36% Cr₂O₃ is crushed, screened, and passed through spirals, shaking tables, or jig separators to remove lighter gangue minerals and upgrade the chromite content to 40–46% Cr₂O₃. The resulting concentrate is a fine-grained, dense product with tightly controlled chemistry and particle size. Pakistan’s Balochistan province has multiple chromite beneficiation plants processing ore from surrounding mines.

Color: Dark grey to black
Magnetic Susceptibility: Low
Ferrochrome smelting: Concentrate is pelletized or briquetted and charged into submerged arc furnaces to produce charge chrome and high-carbon ferrochrome
Foundry chromite sand: Fine chromite concentrate used as specialty molding and core sand in steel and iron foundries for its high refractoriness and thermal conductivity
Refractory manufacturing: Raw material for chrome-mag refractory bricks, gunning mixes, and ramming masses for steel ladles, EAF furnaces, and cement kilns
Chemical manufacturing: Feedstock for sodium dichromate, chromic acid, chromium oxide green, and other chromium chemicals
Welding consumables: Chromite fines used in welding electrode coatings and flux-cored wire formulations
Pigments: Base material for chrome oxide green pigment used in paints, ceramics, and construction materials
Pelletizing and briquetting: Concentrate is agglomerated into pellets or briquettes for improved furnace feed and handling
Each lot includes a Certificate of Analysis reporting Cr₂O₃, FeO, SiO₂, Al₂O₃, MgO, CaO, P, S, moisture, and particle size distribution. Concentrate is sampled at the beneficiation plant and again at the port before loading. Pre-shipment samples are provided for buyer approval. Third-party inspection (SGS, Intertek, Alfred H. Knight, or equivalent) can be arranged on request.
