Natural raw magnesite lumps from Pakistan for refractory, cement and chemical applications
Raw magnesite lumps, 40-47% MgO. Mine-run and crushed sizes. Price on inquiry, shipped from Karachi.
Magnesite is a magnesium carbonate mineral (MgCO₃) containing up to 47.8% MgO in its pure form. It is the most important natural source of magnesia for industrial applications. Pakistani magnesite deposits occur as cryptocrystalline and macrocrystalline formations in ultramafic rock sequences across the northern and western mineral belts. The ore has a chalky white to light grey appearance with a dense, compact structure and conchoidal fracture.

Dead-burned magnesia (DBM): Raw magnesite is calcined at 1500-1800°C in shaft or rotary kilns to produce dead-burned magnesia, the primary raw material for basic refractory bricks used in steelmaking BOF converters, EAF furnaces, and cement kilns
Caustic-calcined magnesia (CCM): Magnesite is calcined at 700-1000°C to produce reactive magnesia powder used in flooring cements, animal feed supplements, environmental remediation, and fertilizer production
Fused magnesia: Magnesite is melted in electric arc furnaces at 2800°C+ to produce high-purity fused magnesia for premium refractory applications in steelmaking and glass production
Refractory bricks: Magnesia-based bricks (mag-chrome, mag-carbon, mag-spinel) are the standard lining for steel converters, EAF sidewalls, cement rotary kilns, and glass furnaces
Cement manufacturing: Raw magnesite is added to cement raw mix to provide MgO where required by the clinker chemistry. Magnesium oxychloride (Sorel) cement is made entirely from calcined magnesite
Agriculture: Calcined magnesite is used as a magnesium fertilizer and soil conditioner. Magnesium is an essential plant nutrient and a component of chlorophyll
Environmental: Caustic-calcined magnesia is used for acid mine drainage treatment, flue gas desulfurization, heavy metal precipitation, and wastewater neutralization
Chemical industry: Raw material for producing magnesium sulphate (Epsom salt), magnesium hydroxide (milk of magnesia), magnesium chloride, and other magnesium compounds
Animal feed: Calcined magnesite is used as a magnesium supplement in livestock and poultry feed
Each lot includes a Certificate of Analysis reporting MgO, SiO₂, CaO, Fe₂O₃, Al₂O₃, LOI, moisture, and size distribution. Pre-shipment samples are provided for buyer approval. Third-party inspection (SGS, Intertek, or equivalent) can be arranged on request.
