Foundry Silica Sand from Pakistan
Silica sand is the most common type of foundry sand used in metal casting. Its high purity, thermal stability, and precise grain sizing make it ideal for making sand molds and cores. Pakistan’s silica sand deposits are prized by foundries for their favorable chemical and physical properties. Sands are washed, dried, screened, and blended to produce standard foundry grades.

A: Foundry sand has much higher purity (> 98% SiO₂), more precise grain sizing, higher thermal stability, and lower impurity levels compared to regular sand. These properties are essential for making high-quality sand molds and cores that can withstand the high temperatures and pressures of metal casting without causing defects in the finished castings.
A: 50 kg or 100 kg polypropylene bags stacked on pallets are the most common for small to medium foundries. 1 MT jumbo bags are economical for larger volumes. Bulk container (20' or 40') shipment is used for very high quantities. 25 kg kraft paper bags are also available for certain grades. We can customize packaging based on your handling setup and volume requirements.
A: The choice of AFS grade depends on your metal alloy, casting size and complexity, molding process, and desired surface finish. In general, finer grades (higher AFS numbers) are used for intricate castings, thin walls, and smoother finishes, while coarser grades are used for larger, simpler castings.
