Flux-Grade Limestone from Pakistan
Flux-grade limestone is a high-calcium, low-impurity limestone used as a fluxing agent in iron and steel production. It is quarried from deposits with stringent limits on silica, alumina, sulfur and phosphorus to avoid contaminating the steel. Pakistan’s Salt Range holds large reserves of 50-55% CaO limestone suitable for flux use.

Applications
Used as a flux and desulfurizer in blast furnace ironmaking and basic oxygen steelmaking (BOS). Also used in electric arc furnace (EAF) steelmaking, ferroalloy production, and foundry cupola melting.

We can also supply limestone with CaO up to 55.5% from certain quarry faces, subject to quantity and shipment terms.
A: Steel producers generally specify a maximum silica (SiO₂) limit of 1-3% for flux limestone, as silica impairs its ability to remove impurities and affects slag fluidity. Our flux-grade limestone contains less than 1% SiO₂, making it suitable for the most demanding steel grades. The SiO₂ value is reported on the Certificate of Analysis for each shipment.
