| P | < 0.08% |
| S | < 0.05% |
| LOI | 2-5% |
| Moisture | < 5% |
| Tumble Index (TI) | > 85% (+6.3 mm) |

| Lump Sizes | 6-25 mm, 10-40 mm, 10-50 mm |
Iron ore lumps are the direct-charge grade of iron ore, screened and calibrated to specific size fractions suitable for direct use in blast furnaces and DRI kilns without the need for sintering or pelletizing. The lumps are hard, dense, and dark reddish-brown to black in color with good tumble strength and low degradation during handling and transport. Pakistan’s iron ore belt yields quality lumps with consistent Fe content and favorable metallurgical properties.
Blast furnace grade: 10-40 mm
DRI grade: 6-25 mm, 10-25 mm
General purpose: 10-50 mm
Custom calibration available
Blast furnace ironmaking: Iron ore lumps are directly charged into blast furnaces along with coke and limestone as part of the iron burden. Lumps bypass the sintering step, reducing processing costs and energy consumption for steel mills
Direct Reduced Iron (DRI/Sponge Iron): Calibrated lumps in the 6-25 mm or 10-25 mm range are the preferred feed for gas-based (Midrex, HYL/Energiron) and coal-based (rotary kiln) DRI plants. Lump quality directly affects DRI metallization rate, productivity, and product quality
Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) charge: DRI produced from iron ore lumps is charged into EAFs for steelmaking, either as the primary metallic feed or blended with scrap
Foundry cupola charge: Iron ore lumps are added to cupola furnace charges in iron foundries to adjust the chemistry and increase iron yield
Ferro-alloy production: Iron ore lumps serve as a source of iron in submerged arc furnaces producing ferro-alloys such as ferromanganese and ferrosilicon
Ballast and counterweight: High-density iron ore lumps are used as ballast material and counterweights in marine, construction, and industrial applications
Each lot includes a Certificate of Analysis reporting Fe, SiO₂, Al₂O₃, P, S, TiO₂, MnO, CaO, MgO, LOI, moisture, tumble index (TI), abrasion index (AI), and size distribution. Pre-shipment samples are provided for buyer approval. Third-party inspection (SGS, Intertek, or equivalent) can be arranged on request. Reducibility index (RI) and reduction degradation index (RDI) testing available for DRI-grade lumps.
