Fluorspar Lumps from Pakistan
Fluorspar (fluorite) is a calcium fluoride mineral (CaF₂) that occurs in hydrothermal vein and replacement-type deposits. It is the world’s only significant commercial source of fluorine. Pakistani fluorspar deposits produce ore in a range of natural colors including pale green, purple, white, amber-brown, and colourless, reflecting variations in trace element content. The ore is mined, sorted, and sized into lump grades covering the full spectrum of industrial specifications from ceramic-grade through metallurgical-grade to acid-grade.

Industrial Uses
Steelmaking flux: Fluorspar lumps are charged into BOF, EAF, and ladle refining furnaces to improve slag fluidity, promote desulphurization, and assist dephosphorization. The most widely used flux in primary and secondary steelmaking
Hydrofluoric acid (HF) production: Acid-grade fluorspar lumps are reacted with sulphuric acid to produce HF, the starting material for all fluorine-based chemicals, refrigerants, fluoropolymers, and aluminium smelting chemicals
Iron foundry flux: Charged into cupola and induction furnaces to improve slag fluidity and separation of non-metallic inclusions from molten iron
Ferro-alloy production: Flux in submerged arc furnaces producing ferromanganese, ferrochrome, ferrosilicon, and other alloys
Ceramic and enamel flux: Ceramic-grade fluorspar is used as a flux in ceramic bodies, glazes, and vitreous enamel, lowering firing temperatures and improving surface quality
Glass manufacturing: Fluorspar is added to glass batches as a flux and opacifier, producing opal glass and specialty optical glass
Cement manufacturing: Fluorspar at 0.5-1% in cement raw mix acts as a mineralizer, reducing clinker burning temperature and kiln fuel consumption
Welding consumables: Fluorspar is used in welding rod coatings and submerged arc welding flux formulations
Non-ferrous smelting: Flux in copper, lead, zinc, and aluminium smelting operations
Quality Assurance
Each lot includes a Certificate of Analysis reporting CaF₂, SiO₂, CaCO₃, S, P, Fe₂O₃, moisture, and size distribution. Grade-specific impurity limits are verified before shipment. Pre-shipment samples are provided for buyer approval. Third-party inspection (SGS, Intertek, or equivalent) can be arranged on request.
